So let’s just start with the fact that I *heart*Â Pantone books. There’s just something about ALL OF THOSE COLORS! ALL THE POSSIBILITIES! that makes me downright giddy. I have a set of books that I’ve owned since graduation (where we did, in fact, have Pantone colors taped to the tops of our mortarboards), in it’s handy little case, safely stored away in a dark drawer so as not to fade my precious colors.Â
A few weeks ago, I ran across this house on Flickr that honestly just blew me away. I swear, if I had super high ceilings, massive amounts of time and painter’s tape and a willing husband, I’d totally go for this look.  But I don’t. So, alas, no Pantonization of the house. Â
Until yesterday, when I spied these stairs over on Apartment Therapy. Oh yeah. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with our basement stairs — they desperately need work and we were thinking of painting but hadn’t settled on anything yet. There are tearsheets laying around the house of various painted staircases, some of which I really liked, but nothing that I lurved. The main problem was that most of these had the treads painted, some in white (ack!) and I just couldn’t see that working for this five-person, two-cat, minimal-cleaning household. The Pantone stairs will work. Ok, so we won’t use the actual Pantone paint because we’re not bazillionaires, but I’ll break out my trusty swatch book and start picking colors now. For 13 risers. Egads… that should take, oh, three or four months. Anyone have any requests?Â

I, for one, am glad that Corian Loves Missoni because the love child of that union is a color explosion, the likes of which you have never seen…Â

but don’t worry about any of that primary nonsense, go vote for my entry in the “Now You See It, Now You Don’t” contest.
Somehow I made it through the first round (ok, there were only four entries and three got to go on… whatever!) so now we’ve moved on to the big Cookie magazine contest. That’s me, Ramona, with the row of hooks in the Entryway section — the one with the non-staged, non-stellar photography — so, yeah, I need all the help I can get.
Winner gets a gift certificate to Dwell Studios (*LURVE!*) and it looks like they’re also randomly awarding a gift certificate to one lucky voter. $900 smackeroos. So go vote already!

with this Push It! shirt from Threadless and it is most definitely NOT the fact that there are tiny tubes of paint pooping all over the place. That is the BEST thing about it. But the colors suck. I mean, really SUPER suck. The look on that yellow paint’s face though… man, that more than makes up for it!

We’ve looked before at the awesome textiles of PataPri, but today I was actually (finally!) moved to buy something in her etsy store. So she got together with illustrator Linzie Hunter (whom we also *lurve*), and lo and behold, look what they made… this fabulous alphabet kitchen towel.
But this won’t be going in my kitchen to get smeared with red sauce and orange juice. Hooo, no, it’ll be either stretched or framed and hung on the wall. Wahoo for the cheap art!
The alphabet towels are linen and come in three colorways. They go on sale today and are a limited edition so get one quick!

you have to have a sense of humor. And apparently they do. As I was perusing the seed display at the old Home Depot yesterday, I noticed a package of broccoli named “George’s Favorite Blend.”
I didn’t have my camera with me but it made me laugh so much that I almost bought them, but then, well, I would own broccoli seeds and who wants to deal with that?
Anyway, I can’t seem to find a picture of the package online, nor the story behind the name. Perhaps it has nothing to do with #41, but I like to think that it does. Because taunting former presidents is fun.

Ok, this Mr. P lamp makes me laugh and laugh. And, no, I wouldn’t dare put it in the living room but ya gotta admit it would be awfully cute in a little boy’s room.
You know what else makes me laugh? The thought of saying, “Hey Mom, would you flip on that lamp over there?”
bwahahahahhahaha.

but, because I grew up watching Batman reruns on the local UHF station, I’m in lurve with this POW! t-shirt. But at almost $50, I’m thinking maybe I’ll go for a DIY version. Hellooooo cafepress… here I come.

That’s it, just $15 measly dollars. Which, after these past few posts, seems like mere pocket change for this super-cool 2-in-1 wooden trivet set.  It has asterisks… Woo! Love me some asterisks! Â

So, the boy loves cars. He has a hand-me-down garage-sale Little Tikes Cozy Coupe that he adores.
But he is a big boy and soon we’ll have to fold him in half to get him into his car, so I’ve been looking around for replacements. And have stumbled upon the wonderful world of metal pedal cars. Â
Oy, look at this orange one! Wouldn’t you love to race that around a driveway?! Or would you? Or, more importantly, would a two-year-old? Or, actually MORE importantly would a three- or four-year-old? Because these things are a bit spendy. The cheapest I’ve seen the orange car for is $135 on ebay. Some of the others run more towards $250-300. So does anyone have experience with pedal cars? Did your kids like them, and like them for awhile? Or did they move on to bikes and forget the car, leaving it as just one more thing to hog garage space?Â
