bwahahahhahahahaha…
Ok, I’ll admit it…

when I first saw this Space Invaders scarf, I thought it was a clergy vestment!

(man, oh man, I wish it were — I’d so love to go to THAT church.)

I think these cards from Set Editions pretty much speak for themselves…

(from these aforementioned cards) has an utterly atrocious web site, but shade your eyes, steel yourself and take a look around because some of her stuff is HILARIOUS!
oh man, I am DYING laughing at this Spock Monkey!

Check out this video for DYNAMATION! I dig this old stop-motion animation — it completely amazes me that people used to be able to do this stuff sans computers.
And… AND… this totally makes me wish I had my own personal 1950s narrator… what a hoot that would be!

So I was musing the other night that I have a 5.5 year old but she does not have a tooth fairy pillow. She dug my old one out of one of the bins in the basement, so she knows they exist but it was just like #2,634 on my “to do” list, and, well, you know how that goes.
“Hmmmm,” I thought, “perhaps I should make her one for Christmas.” So this is what you get when you start a project at 11 pm and decide to only search through your pile of scrap vinyl because you are feeling too lazy to actually finish any hems or anything remotely difficult. Interesting, eh?
maybe it needs a tiny vinyl crown…

dateline: today, Dec. 17
place: Target, children’s clothes
my face: look of abject horror
my mind: reeling with “WTF?”s
the culprit: Spring — yes, SPRING! — clothing out on the racks already
and, as I was saying, WTF?! It… is… December. And I forgot to mention up there under “place,” but we’re in Missouri — there is no need for pastel-colored, cap-sleeved little tops in December in Missouri. Ever.
gah.

I would never in eleventy bazillion years want, nor wear real diamond studs. BUT… I luuuuurve these earrings from Carrie Weston.
(and I have to say the sandwich ring is cracking me up too!)

You know when you’ve just sent out your Christmas cards and then you see different cards that you love and would’ve been perfect and you’re just kicking yourself that you didn’t see them sooner? Well, if I were an on-the-ball type of person, these sock monkey snow angels would be those cards.
As it is, I have NOT sent out my cards because apparently I suck too much at this whole “organized life” thing. But it would be an extra-special, unexpected treat to receive such a card AFTER the holidays right? RIGHT?!

(in case you can’t tell, it’s an upside-down Christmas tree. Ho, ho, ho! How bizarre!)
Anyway, someone explain this because really, REALLY, I have absolutely NO idea how things like this get made. Did the buyers at Home Depot sit down and think, “Man, the upside-down Christmas tree market is really under-served.”
I don’t get it. I’m all for unconventional, but this is just stupid. Unless you nail all the other furniture in the room to the ceiling too and make the WHOLE ROOM upside down — that maybe I could understand.
oh look, it’s on sale. Surprise, surprise… I suspect if you wait long enough, they’ll pay you to take one off their hands.

Oy, does this piece on the “Design Disease” hit home.
In a good, yet freaky sort of way…
(and yes, I want a kitchen towel like that)
